“Finding yoga as a practice was such a joy. It felt good to move my body, to strengthen it and find confidence in it. It became my ‘new thing’. It felt good! I began to notice how absence from my regular yoga classes made me feel irritable and agitated. My body and mind was always so relieved to return to yoga class.

That made me take notice of the YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) at One Family Yoga Pilates and Fitness. I watched and observed the absolute blossoming of a particular student as she did her training with Lainie Jenkins.

I think that was when I decided to attend ‘just for interest’ ,the info session about the next round of YTT. I left that session with a spark of excitement. Perhaps doing the YTT would be a great way to further understand both yoga and my practice of yoga.

Like so many others before me, it wasn’t my intention to become a teacher, I simply wanted more… more of yoga. And, so it began!

Falling in love with yoga as a Yoga Teacher Trainee was next level. It was just like falling in love; each day I would discover something new about this thing called yoga.

The way it felt in my body, touched my heart, and soothed my mind was just amazing.

I learned so much. I felt so supported by Lainie and the beautiful cohort of students I trained with. I felt accepted and encouraged by the One Family Yoga Pilates and Fitness members along the way. The community atmosphere made it an incredible experience, and one that I will cherish always.

And like so many others before me, I changed my original intention, and I actually became a yoga teacher. I love it!

It is so good to really, really love the thing one calls work. It is even better that I get to ‘live’ yoga every single day. If you have ever thought for a moment that doing a Yoga Teacher Training would be interesting, then do it… I urge you to listen to that inner voice of wisdom.”
