Bootcamp Basics

Bootcamps are designed in a way that pushes YOU the participant harder than you’ll push yourself and, in that way, resembles a military boot camp.

During the 6-8 week course, you’ll run sprints, perform lots of push-ups and various forms of plyometric and interval training with little rest between exercises.

Bootcamps have grown in popularity over the years primarily because they offer a new way to get a low-cost, efficient and challenging workout. They are for everybody and with these fitness classes, you’ll get fast results and create a supportive and motivational community of like-minded people.

A Typical Fitness Boot Camp

The standard fitness boot camp offers all or most of the following:

  • A small group environment (6-10 people).
  • An open public outdoor space such as a park.
  • Orientation: Your first session should include time for completing paperwork, reviewing the class rules and safety guidelines and undertaking a basic fitness assessment
  • Warm-up: Each session should start with a 10 minute warm-up.

The 30-40 minute workout will typically include:

  • Push-ups
  • Plyometric
  • Interval training
  • Squats
  • Lunges
  • Squat thrusts or burpees
  • Speed training with sprints
  • Core strength
  • Team competitions
  • Partner exercises
  • Obstacle courses
  • Cooldown and stretching

The session will end with some gentle stretching and possibly some education and homework.

Fitness retesting. At the end of the fitness boot camp, you will typically repeat the original fitness assessment to determine your results.

  • Bottle of water
  • Towel
  • Please wear comfortable clothing.

Please note: All classes need a minimum number of students to go ahead. If your course does not have enough students it will be canceled and you will be informed. Courses are usually canceled, when necessary, 2 working days prior to the scheduled start date. You may be informed of a cancellation and/ or change via SMS or email. Bootcamp payments are non refundable and can not be extended.

Co-Founder and Principal Personal Trainer

Co-Founder and principal personal trainer at One Family Yoga & Fitness, Victor has been a personal trainer for over 15 years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience to train to the goals and needs of the individual client. Victor’s passion for sport started when he was just 10 years old and started participating in Judo classes. With 8 National Championships on his Black Belt, he decided to take the next step and get his degree in Physical Education whilst working as a Personal Trainer. He loved making a difference in people’s lives so much that after completing his degree he continued as a Personal Trainer to this day.

Victor and Lainie met working in the same gym in Santiago, Chile brought together by their love for health and fitness. In 2009, Lainie and Victor moved to Australia permanently, where they continue to pass on their love for teaching Group Fitness, Personal Training, Pilates and Yoga.

Together, Lainie and Victor share their beliefs and values of living a healthy and happy life through Yoga and Fitness with their children.

It is with this in mind that they decided to open One Family Yoga and Fitness so that other families could do the same.
